Girls’ Generation wins ‘Best Global Idol Group’ at Huading Awards in Macau
There is no denying that Girls’ Generation is one of the most popular K-Pop acts in the world.The nine-member girl group has a tremendous fan following not just at home in Korea, but around Asia as well.
Their October 7 win for ‘Best Global Idol Group‘ at the 10th Huading Awards in Macau is, therefore, not at all surprising.
The award ceremony was held at the Venetian in Macau and was attended only by Girls’ Generation member Jessica, due to the busy schedules of the other members.
She walked the red carpet alongside some of Asia’s hottest stars looking stunning in a classy white gown with black accents.
The award for Best Global Idol Group was presented by Steve Yoo, a former K-Pop superstar himself who now has an acting career in China, and was accepted by Jessica on behalf of her entire group.
In her acceptance speech, Jessica thanked the Girls’ Generation fans and spoke a bit of humble Chinese (‘xie xie’, or ‘thank you’).
