130106 Baby Mamas, The Hot Tutor and More of SNSD’s Variety Show Personalities

Going on six years in the entertainment industry, Girls’ Generation (SNSD) has had many opportunities to let their personalities shine on numerous variety programs, but we’re looking back on some of the SNSD branded shows that allowed fans to get to know the girls a little better.

School Girl

Before SNSD made its official debut, the girl group took on the reality TV world, appearing on Mnet’s Girls’ Generation Goes to School in 2007.

The program followed the girls around in the months before their debut, capturing the last moments leading up to the all-important event, including their first public performance on Mnet’s School of Rock.

Fashion Editor

We first got a glimpse into the SNSD members’ personal styles when the girl group took on the fashion world in 2008 on Mnet reality program Factory Girl.

The girls were given the opportunity to be intern fashion editors at fashion magazine Elle Girl, where they were divided into two teams and compete against each other on various assignments, even traveling to fashion mecca New York City for the show.

Horror Flick Chick

The girls put their pretty idol image aside and tested their acting chops on MBC’s Girls’ Generation’s Horror Movie Factory, competing in various acting exercises when they weren’t being scared silly, of course.

Although the show didn’t fare well in terms of viewership ratings, we applaud whoever thought it’d be a good idea to mix idols and horror movies. It certainly provided a lot of material for entertaining screen captures.

Baby Mama

As if their previous reality show wasn’t a scary enough experience, SNSD took on the daunting task of caring for a baby on KBS’ Girls’ Generation’s Hello Baby.

The SNSD members became proud mamas to baby boy Kyung San on the show, competing with each other for the title of Best Mom on the show each week.

At times like this, we’re glad reality TV…is just reality TV.

The Hot Mentor

For their most recent nameplate reality show, jTBC’s Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys, which first aired in 2011, the girls became mentors to a few troubled teenage boys.

In order to help build their teamwork, the boys are given the task of preparing a performance for a dance competition, and let’s just say, it was interesting to see a few boys attempt to ‘bring the boys out.’

Not only were the girls the hottest mentors the boys probably could’ve ever asked for, the SNSD members were applauded for genuinely caring for the boys and rooting for their success.
