On December 10th, Girls’ Generation’s second Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~”, was certified “Platinum” by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
“Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace” was released on November 28th and earned the “Platinum” certification by shipping over 250,000 albums. In its first week of release, the album ranked thirdon Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart and remains in the top ten on Oricon’s Daily Album Chart. Earlier this year, Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album was certified by the RIAJ for shipping over one million albums.
Girls’ Generation will be starting their second arena tour in Japan in February of 2013.
