Girls’ Generation consisting of nine members, Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Soo Young, YoonA and Seohyun, met up with the media for an exclusive press conference held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront on October 12. They displayed high energy throughout the press conference and showed off their charms to those who were present. They talked about their second concert in Singapore, fans that caught their eye and the projects they would love to try next.
Girls’ Generation showed their love for Singapore as they started off the press conference telling the crowd how they feel about being finally backed in Singapore. Soo Young exclaimed that “It’s always great to be back in Singapore, nice weather, wonderful fans, chilli crab (laughs)”, showing her undying love for the local delicacy.
Upon the question on how this year’s show will be different as compared to the past, Sunny shared, “We have adopted the hologram concept in our previous tour and hoped our fans are excited”. She continued that “Over the two years, we definitely have more concert experience so we hope to have a lot more fun and hope our fans enjoy as well.” Bringing much excitement on how amazing the concert will be.
Seohyun also shared that the “final rehearsal when we were trying to do something for our fans” to be the most fun moments during the preparation for the Girls & Peace World Tour. She added that she hoped her excitement for the concert would reach out to the fans.
During the press conference, each member showed off their hilarious personalities. When asked who was the peace maker in the group, Yuri quickly picked up her microphone and exclaimed “That’s me!” reeling in much laughter to the crowd and even to the other members, with some shaking their head jokingly in disagreement.
It is well known that different members are trying out different fields, such as acting and musicals. Recently, Seohyun is making her debut screen through the drama, ‘Passionate Love’ bringing in much excitement for fans as well as netizens, awaiting to see how the youngest will portray her role. On the other hand, Yuri and Hyoyeon are trying out to be a mentor judge for the new dancing show, Dancing 9. Hence, many are wondering what the girls are actually interested to try out in the future. Tiffany responded and shared that “It would be cool if we did more musicals as well, but more like an action-typed of film, more marvel or more spy-ish type of films.”. Saying how these roles would be more of a challenge and enable the public to see a different side to Girls’ Generation.
Debuting in 2007, Girls’ Generation have a very steady and dedicated pool of fans, called SONE which have showered the girls with many love and support throughout their time as Girls’ Generation. When asked which type of fans they usually remember or notice, Tiffany laughed and exclaimed that “I think fans that dressed up exactly the way we do, because we like to see how detailed their outfits are.” She continued that it’s always fun to see a group of fans dressed up as each member and play the roles.
Being active for almost six years now, they have had many concerts and live performances around the world, conquering Asia, America as well as Europe, showing how big and diverse their pool of fans are. When asked about what are the most memorable moments, YoonA shared that “In terms of music, I would definitely say Gee, thanks to the fans we received lots of love”. She continued, “In terms of concert, the very first time was the most unforgettable.”
The girls then ended off the press conference with the leader, Taeyeon concluding that she hoped the fans would enjoy the concert and shared that, “We are always happy to be here in Singapore as part of our world tour. We did a lot of protestation and hope that our fans enjoy our concert as much as we enjoy meeting them.”
October 12, marked the second Girls’ Generation’s tour in Singapore, the first being in 2011, almost two years ago. Girls & Peace World Tour concert, which was held on the same day, October 12, at Singapore Indoor Stadium at 6pm reeled in 8000 audience size, showing the support of their dedicated fans.
