Girls' Generation's Taeyeon has been injured after an accident at the Seoul Music Awards.
Taeyeon has finished performing with Girls' Generation subunit TaeTiSeo (formally Girls' Generation-TaeTiSeo,) and was walking off stage when she fell through a hole in the stage. Korean media reports that Taeyeon was brought to the hospital immediately after getting out of the situation, and was injected with painkillers due to straining her muscle.
Taeyeon did not sustain any major injuries, and no other member of TaeTiSeo was injured. The other two members, Seohyun and Tiffany, went to Taeyeon's aid after she fell down.
The situation was caused by a lowered platform. Stage platforms are built into the stage for dramatic effect, and raise and lower singers on stage during performances.
TaeTiSeo appeared at the 24th Seoul Music Awards on January 22. The subgroup performed their latest song, "Holler."
Several fan videos circulated the internet, showing Taeyeon's accident. The hashtag #HopTaeyeonisAlright trended worldwide on Twitter shortly after.
The 24th Seoul Music Awards took place at Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium. Along with TaeTiSeo, there were many other popular acts that performed. A Pink, K.Will, AOA, SanE & Raina, SISTAR, SoYou X Junggigo, EXO, B1A4, Girl's Day, INFINITE, BEAST, Super Junior, BTS, GOT7, Eddy Kim, Red Velvet, and many other acts performed.
TaeTiSeo won a main prize (Bonsang) award at the 24th Seoul Music Awards.
EXO, VIXX, Girl's Day, B1A4, AOA, A Pink, BTS, INFINITE, SISTAR, BEAST, and Super Junior also won awards.
TaeTiSeo made a comeback with "Holler" in September. Girls' Generation as a whole is expected to release a new album in 2015.
