Girls′ Generation (SNSD) has taken over the year-end ceremonies not with its songs or yearly achievements, but with its MCing skills.
All three main channels have chosen an SNSD member to host at least one of its year-end ceremonies.
Yoona will host the 2012 KBS Music Festival with Sung Si Kyung and CN Blue′s Jung Yong Hwa on December 28. In an MC team that has no TV personality or anchor to hold the center, Yoona is expected to play the part with her polished hosting skills. She has previously successfully hosted the KBS Entertainment Awards and the SBS Gayo Awards, drawing expectations that again she will lead the show. That she starred in KBS2′s Love Rain is also said to have influenced the decision to place her in the MC team.
SNSD′s youngest member Seohyun will take up the mike for the 2012 MBC Gayo Daejejeon to be held on December 31. She will be flanked by Lee Hwee Jae, Boom and MBLAQ′s Lee Joon, and she is expected to show off the skills she built while hosting for MBC′s Music Core.
Sooyoung was chosen to host the 2012 SBS Entertainment Awards on December 30. This is the first time she will be hosting a year-end ceremony, but as she currently hosts SBS′ One Night of TV Entertainment with Yoon Do Hyun, she is expected to pass with flying colors. Haha will join her and help her with the event.
An official said, "Girls′ Generation will not be performing as a group for the year-end ceremonies this year, but the members will host some to the delight of fans. Each member of Girls′ Generation is skilled enough to be able to host a large scale ceremony. It will be fun to compare the members and how they appear at the ceremonies this year."
